Three Connecticut education organizations have talked about the importance of personalized learning for the future of Connecticut’s education. I wholeheartedly agree- just like we treat our patients at the CHC as individuals instead of numbers, our students should be treated the same way.

Earlier this month, one of CHC’s doctor’s teamed up with his daughter in contributing to a book. Dr. Cliff Briggie, a therapist in Meriden, was asked by his daughter Alexis to join her in creating a chapter for The Behavioral Addictions. The book deals with case studies on diagnosing and treating behavioral addictions.

Every month, CHC member meet up and discuss an article on health care and how it could lead to new techniques or programs. This month’s article dealt with creating a program that would give nurse practitioners more experience before finding a position. The discussion was great, and I look forward to next month’s.

Monday marked a day of service for the Americorps members of CHC, Inc. Accompanied by students of the University of Bridgeport and other volunteers, they participated in making food for a charity called “Feeding Children Everywhere.” Great job, everyone!
